Think twice before you make a wish!
Story
A young (shy) man tries to confess his love to his long-time best friend while making a wish, causing chaos and terror. As you can guess, it results in a terrifying obsession.
Acting
Michael Johnston delivers an impressive performance as the young man, but his “love interest”, Inde Navarrette, totally nails it and, in my opinion, deserves an Oscar nomination for this. The acting was unreal!!!
Conclusion
The plot, the acting, the scares – in one scene I jumped, and that literally never happens to me in theaters. This movie is chilling and terrifying. It starts slowly, but transforms into an obsession nightmare with plenty of gore. One interesting thing was that it was mainly shot during the night; only a few very short scenes at the beginning take place during the day.
I love this new horror “era”, which, in my opinion, started in recent years. The theater was full of younger people; I was one of the oldest there at 45 ;). That means younger people are enjoying these fresh horror masterpieces again – be prepared!!!
