The story
A young boy from a small village in Malawi (Africa) is fighting for his right for more education and tries to help his estranged father to save his family from starvaton with an incredible idea.
Acting
For his first movie the young african actor Maxwell Simba and the known Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) make a good father and son combination. Ejiofor plays a hard but fair father trying to save his family, while many including his older daughter already left the village.
Conclusion
Like the most movies which are based on true events – this directional debut of
Chiwetel Ejiofor isn´t any exception. With it´s strong acting performances in a poor and harsh environment this movie reminds us never to give up even when nearly all hope is gone.
